2016 Part 1 - A look back over a beautiful but hectic season.
Posted on January 14th 2017
Well I have gone and done it again. I can't believe my last blog was way, way back in August and now we are in 2017! I think its fair to say I rather failed in the blogging department in 2016. So this year fingers crossed I can keep to my resolution to get a bit more on top of website admin and sharing general prettiness with all you lovely folks.
2016 has been a year of first's for me. A first family wedding cake, a first Geode cake which also lead to a first cake share to go viral, a first enormous 5 tier cake and huge cutting cakes (8 tiers in all!), a first desert table with loads of painted treats, a first at hiding in a secret room, listening to a couple get married, a first at making chocolate tiles for a cake and the first time I have put a cake in a cage!
The year started off with a catch up on paperwork and a bright but chilly day in January at Ettington Park for a gloriously gothic style shoot. I have to say this is still one of my favorite cakes of last year. Photo credit Nellie Photography.
Then of course the first wedding cake of the year on the 30th January for Lisa and Lewis. Married at The Carrige Hall in Keyworth Lisa and Lewis had a lovely little cupcake tower and cupcakes for their Alice in Wonderland themed wedding.
Followed by Helen and Mark and their wonderful and stunning DIY Tipi wedding with a painted cake and cupcakes.
Then came another Alice in Wonderland themed wedding for Rosie and Chris who also had a painted cake with flying swallows and some other little visitors. Can you spot them?
