A boho wedding with beauty, blooms and bones for Suzanne & Piet
Posted on March 30th 2017
This whole boho style wedding was just so beautiful and exactly up my alley so this cake was just a dream to complete. I had been looking forward to this cake for so long as it has everything I love (Beauty, blooms and bones) so I was a little sad when it was done.
The cake and cupcakes were designed together with the couple and based on the invitations and wedding stationary the couple had created. I loved that it was a real collective process and especially the colours and elements it entailed. The cake was a tall two tier cake with a tower of cupcakes all with sugar flowers and hand painted.
Suzanne and Piet held their wedding at the beautiful Delbury Hall and created a stunning setting with sequin runners, beautiful flowers, feathers, antlers and loads of handmade touches. I had a few movement issues with the cake during the travel to the venue but luckily was able to correct it. I was even given a birdcage as a thank you gift from the beautiful couple when I went back the next to collect the stands the next day.
I also had this really lovely message from the couple. Thank you guys you are just so lovely!
‘… and I think your amazing and have such a talent for knowing your customer, we would like to thank you for going above and beyond... and making our cake to compliment our theme perfectly.’
So anyway that’s all from me another very short post. Congratulations #ZanandPiet on being a brand new Mr & Mrs! I had the best time painting this cake and your wedding looked blooming beautiful! I took loads of pics and met loads of really helpful guests and suppliers including Andy Li Photoghraphy and the lovely guys at Delbury Hall - The Coach House Wedding Venue but here are just some of the main ones including the cake and cupcakes and some lovely touches created by the couple.
With love,
Sarah xx
