Bridal Ballet at Blackbrook House in Belper.

Posted on April 13th 2017

On an extremely wet day in the middle of Derbyshire and while trying to avoid fallen trees (thanks storm Doris), a group of us came together to create something pretty amongst the chaos.

Mary-Ann of Thomasina Brides contacted me a few weeks previously to ask if I wanted to be involved and of course I said yes. When I arrived at Blackbrook House everywhere was looking particularly beautiful and the staff couldn’t have been more helpful. I set up the cakes and styled the cake table with the help of Mary-Ann, Elena and Redamancy and Polka-Dot Florist. But it wasn’t just us there were a whole host of talented individuals who were there to help create.

Vendor list:

Photography: Elen Studio Photography

Wedding venue: Blackbrook House

Cakes & biscuits: The Sugared Rose

Wedding venue styling: Redamancy

Flowers: Polka-Dot Florist

Make-Up: Sophie Downing - Derby

Hair: Yvette Clarke

Tulle skirts: English Country Vintage

Hair accessories: Thomasina Brides

Anyway enough waffle from me now and onto the photos. Elena even put together a fab little preview video that you can see here:

Thanks Mary-Ann for organising this photo shoot, Elena for the amazing photo’s and the Blackbrook house team for all help during the day.

Sometimes I really love my job!

With love,

Sarah xx

Christmas Wishes xxx

Posted on December 25th 2018

It's been a busy old year here at The Sugared Rose HQ with some ups and plenty of downs. But I wanted to end the year with some positive loveliness and who doesn't love a touch of Christmas? So I thought I share a few photos from a very christmassey shoot we took part in for Elens Wedding Photography and Thomasina Brides.

2017 so far in pictures

Posted on August 24th 2017

I had a little look around the site today and was very ashamed to see that I had not completed a blog post since April! All these promises of regular posts and updates and I have yet again failed and let life get in the way (oops!). So I thought as I am still in the midst of a very hectic season and spending a hour or so on every wedding to post is not on the cards right now (unfortunately), I would just post a quick photo filled run down of 2017 so far.
