A floral filled rustic beauty of a wedding at Kelham House
Posted on February 16th 2017
I met Sam and Tom at the the 2015 Pop Up Wedding Village at Calke Abbey and we quickly got talking about exactly the type of cake that would suit their slightly rustic and flower filled wedding at Kelham House. I popped over to theirs for a cuppa with some tasters and it was easy to see early on that the cake needed to be fairly simple to showcase the other elements of the wedding. As you all know I do love fresh flowers so it was a extremely lovely process from the get go!
The cake I created for the couple was a simple rough iced wedding cake and then I attached a cascade of fresh florals from Fiona Mcquire Florist using posy picks and food safe cellophane to protect the cake. The flavours they had included: Lemon drizzle with poppy-seed, Chocolate and vanilla.
Well that's it for today another short post but loads of photo's for you that I took of all the elements Sam and Tom created themselves and some stunning flowers by Fiona Mcquire Florist and you should see the flower display created by Sam's mum in a vintage cabinet/drawers. Just stunning!
This wedding was also actually featured in the January 2017 issue of Wedding Ideas Magazine (pages 177-179) with photo's by Aimee Catt Photography which was a fab little read. Here is just a little glimpse of the magazine spread:
Now that really is it! Hope you enjoy.
With love,
