The I Do In Vintage Wedding Fayre at the Beautiful Mount Hotel

Posted on November 4th 2014

All of a sudden it's that time again and the Autumn Wedding Fayres are coming to a close, but what a fayre to end on.

As The Sugared Rose we don't actually do very many wedding fayres and those that we do we do, do tend to lean towards the Vintage persuasion, especially since the introduction of our ever growing Vintage Hire Service. I actually attended an I Do In Vintage Wedding Fayre in Birmingham as a Bride-to-be and loved it so was chuffed when I was accepted as an exhibitor as I have wanted to take part and meet the lovely girls of I Do In Vintage for ages.

Also I had never been to the Mount Hotel before and what a stunning place it is!

As a first time exhibitor with I Do In Vintage and I couldn’t have been made to feel more welcome. The was a really lovely atmosphere and everyone I spoke to, whether it was a fellow exhibitor, a newly engaged couple or one of the amazing organisers was just lovely. The whole day became a day of charming nattering’s and vintage prettiness all round and the setting was just beautiful.

Anyway I took loads of photo’s but unfortunately none really came out very well so apologies that there’s only a few on here today. But here’s a quick snap of our table with a recent sample addition the large two tier ‘English Rose Cake’ with a huge open peony style rose, hand piped lace details and little hand painted roses. (sorry the picture quality is bad my camera was having a bad day!)

What was the best part of the day (except meeting lovely couples of course) – lunch!! This was a first for me and such a lovely thought. Often when you are at an exhibition or fair (especially if you are on your own) it’s difficult to grab five minutes to go and get a bite to eat for lunch so like me you may often just go without (especially as I invariably forget to pack something to take). But around lunch time we presented with a little lunch bag containing sandwiches, a little chocolate bar, a drink and some crisps. I was so was not expecting that and it was so lovely and very very welcome!

Was there a stand out exhibitor for me this time? Yes as well as some good friends there was also a new friend made (hopefully – I may be being presumptuous!) My Little Wedding Shop. It was so lovely to have a good natter with Jenny the Owner/Designer and her gown designs were just so stunning!  I especially loved one of her newest ones (pictures below) so please give her a like and a wave and take a look at her website and social media pages for loads more beautiful examples.

So that’s it for now with fayres/fairs (I never know which is the correct spelling!) and events until 2015! Wow what a year, and we have loads more planned for the spring so plenty to look forward to.

Sarah x

Christmas Wishes xxx

Posted on December 25th 2018

It's been a busy old year here at The Sugared Rose HQ with some ups and plenty of downs. But I wanted to end the year with some positive loveliness and who doesn't love a touch of Christmas? So I thought I share a few photos from a very christmassey shoot we took part in for Elens Wedding Photography and Thomasina Brides.

2017 so far in pictures

Posted on August 24th 2017

I had a little look around the site today and was very ashamed to see that I had not completed a blog post since April! All these promises of regular posts and updates and I have yet again failed and let life get in the way (oops!). So I thought as I am still in the midst of a very hectic season and spending a hour or so on every wedding to post is not on the cards right now (unfortunately), I would just post a quick photo filled run down of 2017 so far.
