Roses & Butterflies for a Spring Wedding - Chloe & Josh

Posted on April 2nd 2015

Well it was a long time in the making but that day finally came for Chloe and Josh's Wedding and what a wedding.

Chloe first contacted me via Facebook back in March last year and after a lovely consultation I quickly set about creating a taster for her and her partner Josh that had a very special inside. Chloe and Josh wanted something more than just a cascade of flowers on their wedding cake, they gave me the oppotunity to make a style of cake I have wanted to for ages, a cake with a secret suprise inside for their guests.

Chloe & Josh's finished Wedding cake and cupcakes

A few images of Chloe & Josh's taster/trial cake and a cupcake (inside and out)

For their tasters I completed in their colours of ivory/white, palest pink and baby blue with some darker hints on the butterflies. I also completed two sponges one which I did a few tester decorations on for them and another I sliced for them to try.

Then further along the process some of the colours changed in the wedding and a Navy blue was introduced. This gave an oppotunity for the butterflies to stand out more and a couple of weeks before the big day I completed a few more tryouts for Chloe and Josh to OK.

Together we got rid of the green and the pink was reduced as a minor accent and the navy was brought onto the butterflies in different designs so it had a highlighted place on their cake.

Their venue was the Ringwood Hall Hotel and I know I say this every time but, wow what a beautiful setting! When I arrived the conservetory where Chloe & Josh's reception was taking place was stunning and intimate with some beautiful architectural features. It made for dark photo's (hense all the black and white) but I am no photographer so I know the professional ones by the couples photographer will be perfect.

Anyway a really lovely wedding to work on from start to fininsh and here are some colour photos (sorry about the quality) of the finished cake and cupcake table. There was an additional 40 cupcakes added to the order late on which mean the main wedding cake sat in a sea of cupcakes which did look really quite pretty. I did take a couple of stands with me in case but decided this simple layout made more of the main cake. I hope you agree?

I am not sure I have told you before but it's always a nerve-racking time, that time between setting up the cake and hearing from the couple about how thier day went. It's the not knowing if the cake is everything they are expecting and I wont lie I do spend a few days worrying after ever delivery. This time i needn't have though for as soon as I posted a couple of photo's online I recieved some amazing feedback from the couple and some of thier guests!

Josh & Chloe Boulton - Beautiful Thank you so much!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Taste gorgeous too! We were in heaven lol.

Jade - Omg the cupcakes with the insides ( jam or something ) was gorgeous never tasted a cake as nice xxx was a beautiful cake.

Jo - It tastes fantastic.

Thanks so much guys, you made my day!

Just a little post today so that's all from me and of course Chloe & Josh the new Mr & Mrs Boulton.

Christmas Wishes xxx

It's been a busy old year here at The Sugared Rose HQ with some ups and plenty of downs. But I wanted to end the year with some positive loveliness and who doesn't love a touch of Christmas? So I thought I share a few photos from a very christmassey shoot we took part in for Elens Wedding Photography and Thomasina Brides.

2017 so far in pictures

Posted on August 24th 2017

I had a little look around the site today and was very ashamed to see that I had not completed a blog post since April! All these promises of regular posts and updates and I have yet again failed and let life get in the way (oops!). So I thought as I am still in the midst of a very hectic season and spending a hour or so on every wedding to post is not on the cards right now (unfortunately), I would just post a quick photo filled run down of 2017 so far.
