Rustic home-made beauty of a wedding for Helen & Mark 14.05.2016

Posted on May 19th 2016

WOW what a lovely setting, was the first thing that I thought as I drove down a winding lane to Helen and Marks wedding venue, and 'WOW' was the theme for the whole morning.

Helen contacted me a while back with a very clear idea on the type of cake the couple were after and as it was painted one I was very excited about it. We narrowed down the design and flavours after a few lovely meetings over coffee and cake but it wasn't until I arrived at Helen's parents home where the wedding was taking place (and in the glorious sunshine) that I realised just how perfect Helen's vison was.

I arrived in a slight panic due to worries about the weather affecting the cakes and possible movement in transit but Helen and her family were so accomodating. The garden and ajoining field were beautiful to start with but had been transformed to accomodate a huge gorgeous Tipi, garden games and photo fun areas, numerous seating area's, bar areas, favor table, card table and beautiful seating plan. All tied together with floral arrangements made by Helen, her family and her Florist Jenny Fleur (Who you may see in the background of some of my photo's) and a wonderful hessian pathway running from activity to activity.

The cakes themselves were cupcakes with buttercream details and little sugarpste florals to tone in with the colours of the wedding and the main cake. They were; chocolate, blueberry and white chocolate and lemon. The main cake was a lemon and blueberry cake with a vanilla bottom tier. So here are a few snaps I took during the set up and just LOOK at the gorgeous vintage green cart/table and fantastic cupcake stand the couple had to set it all up on.

And here are some photo's I took of the stunning details they had put togther.

And now for the gorgeous inside of the tipi's:

As you can see this is a Pinterest wedding dream! Attention to detail completely key and so beautiful. So I am going to head off now and try not to get distracted by fan girling a bit more!

Christmas Wishes xxx

It's been a busy old year here at The Sugared Rose HQ with some ups and plenty of downs. But I wanted to end the year with some positive loveliness and who doesn't love a touch of Christmas? So I thought I share a few photos from a very christmassey shoot we took part in for Elens Wedding Photography and Thomasina Brides.

2017 so far in pictures

Posted on August 24th 2017

I had a little look around the site today and was very ashamed to see that I had not completed a blog post since April! All these promises of regular posts and updates and I have yet again failed and let life get in the way (oops!). So I thought as I am still in the midst of a very hectic season and spending a hour or so on every wedding to post is not on the cards right now (unfortunately), I would just post a quick photo filled run down of 2017 so far.
