Summer in pastels for a Calke Abbey Wedding
Posted on February 23rd 2017
Emma and Damien found me whilst I was taking part in the 2015 Pop Up Wedding Village at Calke Abbey and The Riding School at Calke Abbey was actually where their wedding was to be. Getting in contact this early meant we had a good amount of time to perfect the design and the colours which were to match the bridesmaids and the overall colours for the wedding itself.
Calke Abbey is a truly stunning setting so I was so happy to be back there. It's a National Trust House known as 'The Unstately Home' and I love it. As it's National Trust owned open to the public and the house and gardens are stunning so I highly recommend you plan a day out over there sometime.
On the day it was a little bit overcast and drizzly but soon cleared up and the lovely ladies were there from Honeysuckle and Castle gave me hand while they were there setting up and making sure everywhere looked stunning. I gave them the extra cutting cake I had created and set up the cake on the beautiful cake stand the couple had made. The cake itself was three tiers with a couple of sugar paste English roses and hand piped lace details. Flavours included: Lemon Drizzle, Vanilla and Chocolate.
That's everything for today on this lovely wedding. Enjoy all the photo's of the cake and the lovely little touches created by the couple and Honeysuckle and Castle below. Congratulations again Emma and Damien - beautiful couple!
With love,
Sarah xx
P.S. At the very end the last group of photo's of the wedding day are by the amazing Hannah Appleby at HBA Photography with all other single pics taken by me on the morning of the set up.
