A very lush styled shoot at The Kedleston - featured on Love My Dress

Posted on March 16th 2016

So way back when in November last year I got together with some pretty amazingly talented people to complete a bridal shoot at a gorgeous venue The Kedleston. I was aproached by Emily Wisher Artisan Florist who you may remember I worked together with on a wedding cake for Laura and Adam in 2014 and had met before that at a wedding fair. Funily enough where I had also met Tara Knott of Tickety Boo Events.

So we had an amazing day of beautifying, laughing and taking photo's that were then featured on the top award winning wedding blog Love My Dress.

Want to see the full Love My Dress post? You can do that here!

Take a look at all the very stunning venue, lush florals, beautiful styling, stunning gowns, exquisite hair and makeup and very very gorgeous people here:

Following few photo's by Jo Hastings.

Before the shoot itself I drew up a couple of sketches for Tara and Emily and then set to work creating a painted cake and rough iced cake. (I also took our deer and bees cake as that had not been photographed properly especially as a deer is the logo for the venue!). Whist in the end it was the little rough iced cake with Emily's florals that worked best and stole the 'cake' show and not the painted one (sometimes simple is just the best).

Here is a little pic of the painted cake in the middle of being created and before heading off to the shoot.

Anyway on to the main event, The shoot itself. Here are just some of the amazingly gorgeous photo's of our cakes by Jo Hastings for this lush styled shoot.

And some from Jo of the other cakes:

So that was a bit of cake porn but for more pictures from this beautiful shoot please make sure you look at the full blog post on Love My Dress ASAP.

Christmas Wishes xxx

It's been a busy old year here at The Sugared Rose HQ with some ups and plenty of downs. But I wanted to end the year with some positive loveliness and who doesn't love a touch of Christmas? So I thought I share a few photos from a very christmassey shoot we took part in for Elens Wedding Photography and Thomasina Brides.

2017 so far in pictures

Posted on August 24th 2017

I had a little look around the site today and was very ashamed to see that I had not completed a blog post since April! All these promises of regular posts and updates and I have yet again failed and let life get in the way (oops!). So I thought as I am still in the midst of a very hectic season and spending a hour or so on every wedding to post is not on the cards right now (unfortunately), I would just post a quick photo filled run down of 2017 so far.
