A 'Wonderland' wedding for the lovely Lisa & Lewis - 30.01.2016
Posted on February 3rd 2016
So kicking off a new year of weddings as we mean to go on, Lisa and Lewis's wedding was a fab one to start with. Combining my favorite fresh and sugar florals with some pretty pastels, I loved the colours of this wedding and the whole Alice in Wonderland theme that Lisa and Lewis created.
Lisa and lewis had a very clear idea on what they wanted (which is alway a plus for me) so as soon as I could I was sourcing an 'eat me' cake topper and 'eat me' cupcake tags. Liasing with the very lovely Kate at Holywell Petals regarding the fresh florals needed and generally loving every step.
Here is a little peep at the original sketch completed for Lisa and Lewis way back when:
I had never been to this particular venue before or even knew that it exisited. The Carriage Hall in Plumtree in Nottingham was tucked away and oh so very pretty. The team there immediately made me feel at home whilst I was setting up and I even got to briefly meet the couples photographer and entertainment. Anyway here are some photo's of the cupcakes and cake being set up and the lovely touches in the venue created by the couple prior to the last finishing touches withthe real florals.
Then here is the finished cake and cupcakes. Apologies that there is no full table shot. Unfortunately I didnt manage to get one before I had to hot foot it out of the way of the guests.
I hope you like it. A couple of days afterward I had a really lovely text from Lisa:
'...would just like to say a huge thank you the cake was absolutely beautiful everyone said how amazing it was...'
A perfect start to this year's weddings and congratulations again Mr and Mrs Polkey!
With love, Sarah xxx
