Rachel & Robert's stunning Stubton Hall autumn wedding
Posted on March 9th 2017
To say I had been looking forward to this wedding order would be an understatement. I had met Rachel a couple of times before talking wedding cake as she is a dear friend to one of my best friends. As soon as we sat down and she started telling me about what was planned for their day and her vision for everything I knew this was going to be a briliant cake to create. Rachel had a clear idea on what she wanted which was right up my street and I was even able to co-ordinate the painted element to her wedding stationary that our mutual friend Laura created for her.

Lucy contacted me with a very quick enquiry as she had seen exactly the type of cake she wanted and wondered if it was something I could create. I primarily work with fondant or royal iced covered cakes so this was a new one for me but I really, really wanted to do it as it sounded amazing and would give me chance to try something new.
Winter with a hint of pale pink at Rufford Mill for Kay & Alan.

Kay and Alan were married in a small intimate wedding at Rufford Mill this February and right from the outset Kay knew exactly what she wanted. Kay was brilliant in sending over images of her flowers for reference and colour and even her own design for the cake. I love this. I love it when a couple has a clear idea on what they want their cake to look like. It makes the order so straight forward, albeit adding a bit of pressure to get it exactly as they imagine.

Emma and Damien found me whilst I was taking part in the 2015 Pop Up Wedding Village at Calke Abbey and The Riding School at Calke Abbey was actually where their wedding was to be.
